Volunteer Clearances

Clearances Required for Volunteers

In order to volunteer in the Yough School District, the following three (3) Clearances must be obtained prior to volunteering:

     1)   ACT 34
PA State Criminal History (PATCH) Clearances - Opens in a new browser tab
There may be a fee associated with this clearance for employment  |  Free for School Volunteers

     2)   ACT 151
PA Child Abuse Clearances - Opens in a new browser tab
There may be a fee associated with this clearance for employment  |  Free for School Volunteers

     3)   ACT 114
FBI Fingerprint Clearance (IdentoGO) - Opens in a new browser tab
There is fee associated with this clearance. The service code for volunteers is 1KG6ZJ.  After you register online, you will need to visit an Identogo fingerprint facility.

The Identogo website includes a map noting where these facilities are located throughout Pennsylvania.
              *  They do not accept walk-ins.

Please be aware that clearances may take as long as six to eight weeks to process. It is the responsibility of the volunteer to complete all three clearance applications and pay the associated fees. As soon as you receive your clearances, please take them to the school office. Schools will copy and keep on file.  You should retain a copy of your clearances for your records.

Volunteer Clearances Requirements

Requirements

Dear Parents and Guardians,

There have been changes to state policies as outlined in Act 153 that require Pennsylvania school districts to revise their policies on clearances for staff and volunteers.

To comply with Act 153, Yough School District will now require all employees and volunteers to get new clearances every five years.

While we encourage parent participation in our schools, please be aware that to volunteer with Yough School District you must have current clearances – ones that you have obtained within one year of the date that you would be volunteering in the school.  Clearances will remain in effect for five years per Act 153, and at the end of the five years, volunteers must obtain new clearances. If you have received your clearances in the past two years, they will not expire until the fifth year from the date the clearances were issued. In other words, if you received your clearances for this school year, they are good for four more school years. Instructions and links are available below.  Should you have any questions, please do not hesitate to contact the school.
